170610-N-LC424-0408 PACIFIC OCEAN (June 10, 2017) Culinary Specialist 3rd Class Kresten Herrera, a Baltimore native, assigned to the supply department of the amphibious dock landing ship USS Pearl Harbor (LSD 52), searches the horizon for a contact of interest through a pair of binoculars on ship’s bridge. Pearl Harbor is currently underway, conducting a Certification Exercise (CERTEX) as part of the third and final phase of qualifications for their upcoming deployment. The America Amphibious Ready Group is comprised of more than 1,800 Sailors and 2,600 Marines assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), the amphibious transport dock ship USS San Diego (LPD 22), and Pearl Harbor.
