Distinguished visitors and local officials near RAF Fairford tour a static formation of all three Air Force Global Strike Command strategic bombers during their historic, simultaneous deployment to the European Theater June 12, 2017. A community relations and media event was hosted by Lt. Gen. Richard Clark, 3rd Air Force commander, and allowed up-close access to unique and capable weapon systems showcasing how U.S. Airmen support NATO allies and partners. The B-52H Stratofortress and B-1B Lancer are currently participating in regional military exercises, to include the 45th annual instance of BALTOPS, as well as Saber Strike. All three platforms are conducting bomber assurance and deterrence operations in the theater. Such exercises provide an opportunity to practice increased joint capabilities of NATO and partner forces and enable them to enhance their combat readiness so that, collectively, NATO can immediately respond to a range of real-world situations.
