Active duty U.S. Army, U.S. Army Reserve and U.S. Army National Guard Soldiers, as well as a U.S. Air Force Airman, tackle the 1,000-meter run during the fitness test portion of the qualification for the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge May 28, 2017, near Amman, Jordan. In addition to the 1,000-meter run, the fitness test also included a flexed arm hang and a sprint test. At the end of the three-day event, more than 50 U.S. Army Soldiers, U.S. Air Force Airmen and Canadian Armed Forces soldiers earned the GAFPB, a decoration of the German Armed Forces which is authorized for wear by the U.S. military.
