A team 41 GANG civil engineers from the 116th ACW are participating in USAFE Silver Flag 2017. The intensive eight-day course involving 155 students from 13 Air National Guard and active-duty civil engineer units simulates standing up a bare base at a deployed location in a hostile environment. The 116th CES not only sent the largest contingency of students to the exercise but is also playing a lead role in command and control and many of the skill-set training classes. The training enables our engineers to operate safely and effectively in both a deployed environment and when our state calls during natural or manmade disasters.
