    170605-N-UK248-0022 (June 5, 2017) Two patrol boats pass by the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) as an MH-60S Seahawk of the Helicopter Combat Squadron 23 "Wildcards" flys overhead during a simulated straits transit off the coast of Southern California. America is currently underway conducting Certification Exercise (CERTEX) as part of the third and final phase of qualifications for their upcoming deployment. The America Amphibious Ready Group is comprised of more than 1,800 Sailors and 2,600 Marines assigned to the amphibious dock landing ship USS Pearl Harbor (LSD 52), the amphibious transport dock ship USS San Diego (LPD 22), and America.
