Major General Timothy McGuire, Deputy Commanding General for U.S. Army Europe, and Charles Shay, a Native American D-Day veteran who participated in the liberation of France, unveil the Turtle monument at the Charles Shay Memorial in Saint Laurent sur Mer, France, June 5, 2017. This ceremony commemorates the 73rd anniversary of D-Day, the largest multi-national amphibious landing and operational military airdrop in history, and highlights the U.S.' steadfast commitment to European allies and partners.
