Glomba is a dismount squad leader and Steponovich is a machine gunner. The M2, sometimes called the “Ma Deuce,” is the oldest machine gun currently in the Marine Corps’ arsenal. BLT 3/5 is currently deployed as the Ground Combat Element of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit. Weapons Company is the heavy-weapons elements of BLT 3/5.
