Vietnam veteran Dennis Thompson from La Valle, Wis., who visited the Fort McCoy 2017 Armed Forces Day Open House on May 20, 20-17, holds a photo of his father, former Army Tech. Sgt. Eugene Thompson, who trained at Fort McCoy, Wis., during World War II in the 1940s. Thompson participated in the Vietnam Veterans Welcome Home Ceremony on May 20. Each veteran attending the ceremony received a Vietnam Veterans Lapel Pin.
