Combat medics from the 25th Sustainment Brigade, 25th Infantry Division, and a Medical Evacuation (MEDEVAC) crew from 3-25th Aviation Regiment, 25th Combat Aviation Brigade, conducted hoist training from a UH-60M Blackhawk 29 May, at the Pohakuloa Training Area, Hawai’i in order to build familiarization and competency for both units. Hoist training is a technique used by MEDEVAC crews to extract patients from an area where a helicopter normally could not land and allows the flight medic to begin treating them immediately.
