BREMERTON, Washington (May 24, 2017) Master Chief Culinary Specialist Philip San Nicolas, assigned to USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74), speaks during an Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month observance aboard a berthing barge used to provide living and work space during the ongoing maintenance period. The ceremony honored the contributions made by Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders and included guest speakers and a sampling of food from these cultures. John C. Stennis is conducting a planned incremental availability (PIA) at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility, during which the ship is undergoing scheduled maintenance and upgrades.
