Personnel from the Coast Guard Pacific Strike Force found a large volume of an oily water mixture in the bilges of the aft and forward sections of the vessel Amazon, a 1940's era 170-foot crane barge, currently located on the banks of the Columbia River near Goble, Ore., May 10, 2017.
The Coast Guard will oversee the cleanup of asbestos, oil and other hazardous materials remaining aboard the Amazon and 25 other vessels currently located at the leased submerged-land site near Goble.
