HOHENFELS, Germany - U.K. Lance Corp. Tom Cook (front) of the Queens Royal Hussars, Bravo Squadron Reconnaiscance Troop and U.S. Army Sgt. Jeremy Daniels (back), a combat engineer with the 2d Cavalry Regiment, finish discussion about the placement of the Spider Activated Volcano Obstacle (SAVO) during a field training exercise at the Joint Multinational Readiness Center on May 12.
This new technology is currently being field tested and, according to experts with the U.S. Army's Research, Devlopment, and Engineering command, will reduce the potential for civilian casualties when mines are used in combat.
