Conroe is a chaplain with U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific, and Albarda is a chaplain with the Armed Forces of the Philippines. Community events allow Philippine and U.S. service members to prepare local Philippine communities for possible natural disasters. Balikatan is an annual U.S.-Philippine bilateral military exercise focused on a variety of missions, including humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, counterterrorism, and other combined military operations.
