Sgt. David Higginbotham checks his drill card in between movements. Sergeants Course students are evaluated on their ability to successfully lead a platoon through all the commands on one of four cards. They spend about 30 hours during the six-week course practicing all four cards in order to be prepared when it comes time to perform one picked randomly.
