JUBAIL, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (April 29, 2017) Sailors assigned to USS Mahan (DDG 72) secure mooring lines as the ship moors pierside next to USS Gladiator (MCM 11) in Jubail, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for Exercise Nautical Union 17. Nautical Union is a bilateral multi-dimensional exercise between the U.S. and Saudi Arabia, which promotes interoperability, cross-training and maritime security operations designed to reassure allies and partners, preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the region.
