NEW CASTLE AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Del. - 1st Lt. Joel Steinbrunner, security forces officer, utilizes a baton against defenders during a training session with fellow members on May, 4, 2017. Members of the 166th Security Forces Squadron practiced asp baton training, combative maneuver training, and “redman” gear simulation training. The annual requirement for security forces members provides the opportunity for defenders to enhance skills utilizing weapons, non-lethal defense mechanisms, and skills utilizing their bodies to protect themselves in threatening situations. Master Sergeant Timothy Luko, chief of information protection, 166th Security Forces Squadron, facilitated the training. (U.S. Air National Guard photo by Tech. Sgt. Gwendolyn Blakley/Released)
