In honor of Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month, the Iowa National Guard can never forget the tremendous contributions of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team and the 100th Infantry Battalion in support of Iowa's own 34th Infantry Division during the Italian Campaign of World War II. With the 442nd motto of "Go For Broke" and the 100th know as the "Purple Heart Battalion," their actions solidify a proud ancestral heritage and great pride in America.
