An F/A-18E from the Argonauts of Strike Fighter Squadron 147 makes an arrested landing on the flight deck of the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan as the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Sampson sails in the background. Aircraft decelerate from 105 to zero miles per hour in two seconds with the assistance of the arresting gear cable. VFA-147 is currently embarked aboard Ronald Reagan conducting carrier qualifications as part of a Composite Training Unit Exercise in preparation for an upcoming deployment.
