Petty Officer 2nd Class Ryan Hilliard, from Erie, Pa., directs an F/A-18E Super Hornet from the Argonauts of Strike Fighter Squadron 147 on the flight deck of the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan. Aviation Boatswain's Mates (Handling) are responsible for the safe movement of aircraft on the flight deck. VFA-147 is currently embarked aboard Ronald Reagan conducting carrier qualifications as part of a Composite Training Unit Exercise in preparation for an upcoming deployment.
