South Carolina Army National Guard soldiers from the 1222nd Engineer Company Sappers return from Afghanistan, Oct. 29. The soldiers returned to Columbia S.C., and were reunited with their families after being separated for ten months. Their mission in Afghanistan was route clearance from improvised explosive devices and the mentoring of an Afghan National Army route clearing company.
