In its fifth year, the U.S. Marine Forces Reserve led exercise is part of a civil and joint military program to improve military readiness while simultaneously provide quality services to underserved communities throughout the United States. Additional participants include the Alaska and Arizona National Guards, Air Force Reserve, Navy Reserve, and Coast Guard. Service members began this year’s IRT on April 3 and will continue rotating missions at varied lengths until August 8, moving a projected 150,000 cubic yards of material.
