170426-N-QE668-075 KEY WEST, Florida (April 26, 2017) A trainer with the U.S. Navy Marine Mammal Program works with the dolphin Puanani during training at Naval Air Station Key West's Truman Harbor. The program is in Key West to maintain the mobility of its expeditionary Marine Mammal System to detect and mark the location of mine-like objects on the ocean bottom. NAS Key West is a state-of-the-art facility for air-to-air combat fighter aircraft of all military services and provides world-class pierside support to U.S. and foreign naval vessels.
