NAVAL STATION ROTA, Spain—Senior Airman Alexander Koehler, 123rd Airlift Wing loadmaster, Kentucky Air National Guard, lines up a cargo load during the annual African Lion 17 exercise, April 17, 2017. Various units from the U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force and the Kentucky and Utah Air National Guards will conduct multi-lateral and stability operations training with units from the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces in the Kingdom of Morocco. This combined multilateral exercise is designed to improve interoperability and mutual understanding of each nation’s tactics, techniques and procedures while demonstrating the strong bond between the nation’s militaries.
