During the ceremony, Capt. Larry McCullen relieved Capt. Jeffrey Ward as the ship’s commanding officer. Bonhomme Richard, forward-deployed to Sasebo, Japan, is serving forward to provide a rapid-response capability in the event of a regional contingency or natural disaster.
