U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Jonathan E. Vazquez a Meteorology/Oceanography (METOC) analyst forecaster with Marine Air Control Squadron One (MACS-1) runs to scout a suitable position for an Automated Weather Observation System at a forward arming refueling point (FARP) during Assault Support Tactics 3 in support of Weapons and Tactics Instructor (WTI) course 2-17 at Yuma, Ariz., April 21, 2017. The FARP exercise focused on refueling and rearming aircraft expeditiously. WTI is a seven-week training event hosted by Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron One (MAWTS-1) cadre, which emphasizes operational integration of the six functions of Marine Corps aviation in support of a Marine Air Ground Task Force and provides standardized advanced tactical training and certification of unit instructor qualifications to support Marine Aviation Training and Readiness and assists in developing and employing aviation weapons and tactics.
