PORT MORESBY, Papua New Guinea (April 17, 2017) A Papua New Guinea Defense Force (PNGDF) service member conducts detainee handling procedures on a U.S. Marine with Battalion Landing Team 1st Bn., 4th Marines, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, during escalation of force training at the National Convention Center as part of a theater security cooperation (TSC) engagement, April 17. TSC’s like the one conducted alongside the PNGDF, help to enhance military capabilities with partner nations in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region, and serve to strengthen their respective abilities to respond to a contingency.
