NAVAL BASE KITSAP-BREMERTON, Wash. (April 21, 2017) – Capt. Alan Schrader, Naval Base Kitsap (NBK) commanding officer, adds leg power to his shoveling technique to take the upper hand in his “war on weeds” on the NBK Quarterdeck front lawn during the installation’s annual Earth Day cleaning. The cleanup recognizes Earth Day by revitalizing the base, while sustaining a safe and pleasant work environment. Sailors participating in the event focused their efforts on ground maintenance, including trash removal, recycling, and yard litter around NBK facilities.
