PACIFIC OCEAN (April 13, 2017) Gunner's Mate 2nd Class Tim Stramel, from Chicago, fires a shotline as the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Shoup (DDG 86) prepares to conduct a replenishment-at-sea with the fleet replenishment oiler USNS Yukon (T-AO 202) while underway conducting a composite training unit exercise (COMPTUEX) with the Nimitz Carrier Strike Group in preparation for an upcoming deployment. COMPTUEX tests the mission readiness of the strike group's assets through simulated real-world scenarios and their ability to perform as an integrated unit.
