TAURAMA, Papua New Guinea (April 15, 2017) U.S. Marines with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) stand in formation during the opening ceremony of a bilateral military exchange between the 11th MEU and Papua New Guinea Defense Force (PNGDF) at Taurama Barracks, April 15. Marines and Sailors embarked aboard USS Comstock (LSD 45) are in Papua New Guinea as part of a theater security cooperation exchange focused on increasing military ties with the PNGDF and preparedness for military support to civil authority roles.
