During a memorial service conducted April 14, 2017, at First United Methodist Church in Oviedo, Fla., Army Lt. Gen. Charles D. Luckey, commanding general, United States Army Reserve Command, places his commander’s coin by a pair of boots once worn by Army Maj. Gen. Francisco A. Espaillat, former commanding general of the 143d Sustainment Command (Expeditionary). Espaillat died April 7 while conducting physical training at Ft. Bragg. N.C. Less than two weeks prior to his unexpected passing, Luckey pinned Espaillat’s second star and selected the newly minted major general to serve as the next chief of staff for U.S. Army Reserve Command.
