Jaclyn Mariano, surviving daughter of Air Force Master Sgt. Jude C. Mariano, is introduced during the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) 2017 Honor Guard Gala in Washington, D.C., April 12, 2017. The leadership award recognizes an individual who has taken their experience and demonstrated outstandig leadership on behalf of other military survivors. During the event, the National Basketball Association and USA Basketball were awarded the inaugural National Community Partnership Award, presented for the support they have shown for the Nation’s military families and personal engagement with the surviving families of America’s fallen heroes.
