CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. — Holocaust survivor Dr. Zev Harel shares his experiences during the Holocaust with Sailors and staff at Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune during a diversity event on NHCL’s quarterdeck, April 13, 2017. His visit gave, Sailors and staff, the opportunity to hear a first-hand account of the Holocaust. In Palestine, at the age of 16, Dr. Harel volunteered to serve with the Hagana, the largest of the underground Jewish defense forces. In 1947, he joined the Harel Brigade of the Palmach, the elite Jewish defense force at the time. (U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communication Specialist 3rd Class Nicolas N.
