Pallets full of M865 Kinetic Energy training rounds for the M1A2 Abrams Main Battle Tank's M256 smoothbore gun sit at the ammo point of the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division's Table VI qualifications at the Udairi Range Complex. These rounds have a muzzle velocity of 1,700 meters per second and a maximum effective range of 2,500 meters. The brigade tank and Bradley crews spent about two weeks in the field conducting sustainment gunnery to ensure all the crews qualified at day and night fire to maintain proficiency.
