PACIFIC OCEAN (April 6, 2017) Boatswain's Mate 3rd Class Brooks Best, from Raleigh, N.C., and Boatswain's Mate 1st Class Jesus Loya, from San Diego, direct an MH-60R Seahawk helicopter assigned to the "Magicians" of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 35 during a replenishment-at-sea aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Kidd (DDG 100) while underway conducting a composite training unit exercise (COMPTUEX) with the Nimitz Carrier Strike Group in preparation for an upcoming deployment. COMPTUEX tests the mission readiness of the strike group's assets through simulated real-world scenarios and their ability to perform as an integrated unit.
