Honorary Colonel of the Regiment, retired Maj. Gen. Walter M. Holmes pins the General Campaign Star medal on the uniform of a Canadian soldier. Holmes and regimental sergeant major, Chief Warrant Officer Mike R. Hornbrook were invited to pin the medals on the soldiers of the 1st Battalion, The Royal Canadian Regiment and other elements of the Battle Group Oct. 7 during a medals parade ceremony.
