International Weapons Qualification: Master Sgt. Richard Merka, a Commando Course instructor in the Czech Republic Armed Forces, works with Nebraska Army National Guard 1st Lt. Nathanael Rutherford on the range during the individual weapons qualification portion of the state’s 2017 Best Warrior competition at Greenlief Training Site near Hastings, Nebraska. Merka was one of three Czech service members who visited Nebraska to observe and participate in the Nebraska Army National Guard’s Best Warrior competition through the State Partnership Program
