WELISARA NAVAL BASE, Sri Lanka (March 30, 2017) A Sri Lankan Marine detains a U.S. Marine acting as a simulated enemy combatant, during a humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HA/DR) training scenario at Welisara Naval Base as part of a theater security cooperation engagement, March 30. During the engagement, approximately 325 Marines and Sailors from the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit and USS Comstock (LSD 45), and approximately 175 Marines and Sailors from the Sri Lankan Navy participated in basic infantry and logistical exercises necessary to plan and implement HA/DR operations.
