Michael Barry, left, from Clarksville, Tenn., assigned to Combat Logistics Battalion (CLB) 31 of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), conducts a medical screening exam on Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Jared Kepler, from Maple Valley, Wash., during a simulated non-combatant evacuation operation (NEO) in the hangar bay of the amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) as part of a certification exercise (CERTEX). A NEO is an exercise conducted to ensure commands can quickly and efficiently complete the task of evacuating non-combatant personnel from unstable regions.
