AUSTIN – (March. 22, 2017) Austin native, Capt. Cassidy Norman, executive officer, USS HARRY S. TRUMAN (CVN 75), administers the Oath of Enlistment to five future Sailors during the Rodeo Austin and Stock Show during Navy Week Austin. Participating in the ceremony were Cmdr. Karen Muntean, commanding officer of Navy Recruiting District San Antonio, Machinist’s Mate 2nd Class Juan Rodriguez of Navy Recruiting Station San Marcos, Chief Electrician's Mate Nuclear (Submarines) Ron. Arroyo, USS TEXAS (SSN 775), and Sonar Technician (Submarines) 1st Class Paul McCullough of the USS TEXAS. Texas’ capital is hosting members of the U.S. Navy during Navy Week Austin, March 18-24, coinciding with Rodeo Austin & Stock Show. Ending March. 24, Austin Navy Week is the 2nd of 15 Navy Weeks in 2017 which focus a variety of assets, equipment, and personnel on a single city for a weeklong series of engagements designed to bring America's Navy closer to the people it protects.
