Members of the Coast Guard Cutter Eagle perform maintenance to the ship while it is dry-docked for repairs and maintenance at the Coast Guard Yard in Curtis Bay, Maryland, Jan. 26, 2017.

The Coast Guard Cutter Eagle (WIX-327) is a 295-foot barque sailing vessel used to train Coast Guard Academy cadets, teaching them both the historic aspects of sailing, as well as topics like leadership, navigation and teamwork.

The Eagle was taken as a war reparation from Germany in 1946 and brought to its current homeport in New London, Connecticut.
