U.S. Army soldier, assigned to the 702nd Ordnance Company EOD, 16th Sustainment Brigade, operates a remote-controlled Talon robot during exercise Vanguard Proof at Pocek Range in Postonja, Slovenia, Mar. 22, 2017. U.S. Army soldiers and Slovenian Army Allies trained on multiple improvised explosive device (IED) identification and disposal scenarios to enhance interoperability and define a common operating picture. Units in the battalion have come together from four separate bases in Germany and Italy to conduct this training event. Exercise Vanguard Proof is a combined exercise between the 16th Sustainment Brigade and the Slovene Armed Forces focused on enhancing interoperability NATO operational standards and developing individual technical skills.
