CAPU MIDIA, Romania (March 19, 2017)— An assault amphibious vehicle with Battalion Landing Team 3rd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), splashes into the tide during an amphibious assault drill at Capu Midia training grounds in Romania March 19, during exercise Spring Storm 2017. The purpose of Spring Storm is to work alongside Romanian maritime forces to improve interoperability and enhance our enduring relationship.. The 24th MEU is currently deployed with the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group in support of maritime security operations and theater security Cooperation efforts in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations.
