Soldiers from Company A, 2nd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, conduct a mission brief before their squad live-fire exercise at the House Creek shoot house on Sept. 22. This event kicked off the unit's collective training after completing individual skills training. This training is done to maintain unit cohesion and ability to operate in an urban environment in combat. "We are spending lots of time to run through this," said 1st Lt. Devin Gulliams, the range officer-in-charge from Plano, Texas, about observing classes and step-by-step instructions of room clearing.
