Army Pfc. Matthew Gilbert, a Columbia, S.C., native serving as a chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear specialist in the 321st Military Intelligence Battalion, throws a dummy hand grenade at a range in Camp Blanding, Fla., March 10, 2017. Gilbert was one of four Soldiers from the 321st MI Bn to compete the 143d Sustainment Command (Expeditionary)’s Best Warrior Competition. Conducted by the 143d ESC’s Headquarters and Headquarters Company, the three-day challenge boasted written tests, practical exercises and training simulations designed to push the competitors’ mental and physical limits.
