A Marine exercises with a rock at an artillery school in Pohang, Republic of Korea, March 11, 2017. Marines with 3rd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force were training throughout the day in preparation for Korea Marine Exercise Program 17-6. The purpose of KMEP 17-6 is to enhance and improve the interoperability of both Marine Corps at the tactical level to build war fighting capabilities as partners. This includes ground combat element staff planning, mechanized maneuvers, mountain warfare training, bilateral tank operations and live fire ranges. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl.
