Camp Lemonnier, DJIBOUTI (Feb. 7, 2017) A platoon commander with the Maritime Raid Force (MRF), 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, retrieves his parachute after landing at the specified drop zone during free-fall training conducted near Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, Feb. 7. During the parachute operations, the MRF Marines utilized the high-altitude, high-opening method of insertion, which consists of them jumping from a fixed-wing or helicopter platform and falling to specified altitude before manually deploying their parachutes and controlling their descent to the drop zone.
