Soldiers of the 228th Transportation Battalion render their salute during its activation ceremony. The activation ceremony is an old Army tradition that allows the Commander the opportunity to assess the readiness and discipline of the unit and allows for the uncasing of the guidon which marks a definitive point in time to commemorate the beginning or continuation of a unit’s history and lineage.
