CAMP PATRIOT, Kuwait -- Staff Sgt. Scott Wilson, a Salvage Diver Board member with the 511th Engineer Dive Detachment, directs candidates Spc. Joey Deitzler and Spc. Michael Higginbotham to their nine hands-on practical exercises for the Salvage Diver Board, Feb. 2, Camp Patriot. This board is the last step these candidates have to pass in order to advance from 2nd class diver to salvage diver. Candidates spend anywhere between one to three years working on a Department of the Army Form 7690, which includes 37 tasks that start the minute the soldier completes the Combat Diver Qualification Course.
