170210-N-JN506-235 POLARIS POINT, Guam (Feb. 10, 2017) - Sailors assigned to Los Angeles-class attack submarine USS Chicago (SSN 721) prepare to transfer a retrievable exercise torpedo (EXTORP) onto submarine tender USS Emory S. Land (AS 39). Chicago is completing the first ordnance transfer of torpedoes onto a submarine tender since 2012. Chicago is one of four forward-deployed submarines homeported in Apra Harbor, Guam, which is also home to both of the U.S. Navy's submarine tenders.
