Logistical Support Area ANACONDA, Iraq --Maj. Kirk Slaughter, commander of the 210th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment, an Army Reserve unit based in Garner, N.C., salutes during the playing of the national athemn before the the LSA Anaconda 10-Miler race held on Oct. 8 . More than 550 runners participated in the fourth annual event held at LSA Anaconda, located near Balad, Iraq. The race was coined a "shadow run" because it mirrors the annual event held in Washington, D.C. on Oct. 8. Currently LSA Anaconda, is controlled by Fort-Hood's 13th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) which deployed to Iraq a month, providing logistical support throughout Iraq.
